Women's Investment Network (WIN)

The Women’s Investment Network is a club for working women and single moms to plan for their financial future and take control of their finances through:

• Setting goals and family budgets [Financial Planning]
• Establishing and maintain savings, checking and other investment accounts [Money management]
• Getting financial and moral support for their plans [Networking]

The POINT is reaching out to women who are interested in building their individual wealth through education, training and investments in their families’ future.

We believe that a Community’s health and growth are directly related to the health and well being of it’s families. Read below to find out how you can get involved!

The POINT is looking for women interested in participating in:

• Financial Education Workshops
• One on one sessions with a personal, financial coach
• Savings match (To be determined)

Upon request The POINT can provide:

• Child care services
• Transportation to and from meetings
• Translation will be available
• Refreshments and food will be served to participants and their children.

Looking Towards a Better Life for Tomorrow

Women’s Investment Network (WIN) participant, Terria Jordan has been attending monthly sessions at the POINT office to learn how to better manage her money to build a better life for her and her 3 year old son.

“WIN has been a life-changing experience for me, said Jordan. I have grown into a different person than I was 9 months ago. The program has helped me save money, build my credit, build my confidence and have a better understanding of my financial situation.”

WIN participants meet on a monthly basis to learn set goals and budgeting, maintain their savings and checking accounts, and get financial and moral support from the POINT staff and other women in the WIN program.

In addition to the financial workshops and one-on-one sessions with a financial coach, the participants must put a certain amount of money aside every month for a savings match. With the additional monies, participants can set it aside to pay for continuing education or even a future home.

WIN Program Coordinator, Kim Bennerman, feels the program has been a great opportunity for the women in this area, specifically single moms.

“I see these women growing each day as we meet, learning how to manage and budget their money so that they can build for a better future. They also have the chance to hear from other women in the Palm River area who struggle with the same financial problems.”
