| Position Overview: |
|
To assist in the planning, coordination,
implementation and documentation of all activities related to the Go-4-Kids (a
parent’s club to encourage early school success) project implementation and
operation. To conduct and be present at all scheduled events and activities.
Level of Work and Role:
Program Coordinator. Reports to Program Manager
- Assist in the implementation and coordination of a new early school
success parent engagement initiative.
- Assist in the Development of implementation strategies for the following
program elements:
- Community outreach
- Parent coaching & mentoring
- Parent education & training
- Parent advocacy
- Participant recruitment & service provider/partner recruitment
- Coordinate family support & child assessment services
Project Scope of Work:
- Support manager in the implementation of program activities; daily
documentation, reporting, training and support activities for staff and
participants
- Plan, Organize and Coordinate parent education programs (workshops
series, etc.)
- Run Parent Book Club
- Plan, Organize and Coordinate Parents Night-Out activities
- Lead program participant recruitment
- Lead design and creation of program outreach strategies, publications
and communications with participants, partners, public, etc.
- Support tracking of student’s academic progress and assist home visitors
and director
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in
the fields of community service, adult education, and elementary school
education. Three years experience in a public contact capacity. Extensive
writing and communications skills. Bilingual/Bicultural Preferred. Must
demonstrate proficiency with PCs (by having experience with standard word
processing and spreadsheet software).
Other Required Skills:
- 4-Year College Degree
- Experience, Knowledge and skill in planning, organizing and implementing
neighborhood based social impact and education programs
- Excellent communications skills – verbal and written
- Experienced in planning, organizing and facilitating education programs
and activities – developing agendas, facilitating small groups,
- Knowledge of early education services, resources, opportunities, issues
and concerns
Knowledge of community and parent issues and concerns
- Organized, focused and multi-tasker
- Team player – leader and follower
- Excellent computer skills
- Clean driving and personal record
- Demonstrated ability create communications and outreach strategies
Compensation:
- Commensurate with experience, skills, knowledge. Full-time position
(min. 40 Hrs). Range: $28,000 - $32,000.
