On March 4, beginning at 5:30PM, the POINT will be organizing a community workshop for children, youth, and adults in an effort to prevent and reduce the impact of domestic violence in Palm River. Domestic violence counselors and special guest speaker, Clerk of the Circuit Court in Hillsborough County, Pat Frank, will be available at the workshop to provide training and answer questions.
The POINT believes that domestic violence is a critical community issue and that all community members - youth, residents, families, friends, neighbors, civic leaders, and organizational partners such as The Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and The Spring need to get involved now.
"We want our domestic violence workshops to serve two needs: the need to train residents to help their neighbors when they know there is an issue of domestic violence and the need to get support to residents involved in a domestic violence situation," said Family Asset Building Coordinator, Lisa Vargas.
