Tampa, Fl — In partnership with Rebuilding Together, Tampabay Inc., the POINT is working to assist low-income elderly and/or disabled Palm River residents in need of minor home repairs that will in turn, create better living conditions in the neighborhood. Over a period of several weeks, a Committee will be set up to select six Palm River resident homeowners that qualify.

On Saturday, April 28, POINT staff and over 100 volunteers will spend a full day working on the selected homes: painting the interior/exterior, cleaning out gutters, light carpentry, repairing bad plumbing and putting in new landscaping.

"The recipients always feel very blessed," said Executive Director, Liz Gutierrez. "A lot of them are isolated and don't have company or neighbors nearby. They enjoy the activity of people working on their homes and look forward to seeing friendly faces. We hope to expand the program from year to year!”

“This is the first time I have worked with the POINT on this project,” said Board Member Wally Sheppard. “The people never forget!”

To qualify for rehabilitation assistance, residents must be low to moderate income, own their home, and have homeowner's insurance.
