Check out the POINT’s New Career Training Program! Through a new POINT partnership with Hillsborough Community College and with the funding support of the United Way of Tampa Bay, The POINT is pleased to announce a new career training program exclusively for Palm River residents.

Job Certification and Adult Education programs will provide free career training and certificate courses for area residents who are interested in learning new trades and skills in a variety of careers.

• Community Care Givers Certified Nurse's Assistant program
• Small Business Planning and Training Program
• Childcare Worker Certification Training
• Office Administration Training

Certified Nursing Assistant Program - Become a certified nursing assistant in six weeks! A growing job field that is increasingly in demand, CNA’s are vital members of the nursing profession and the health care team.

Security Guard Training and Licensing - Get the skills you need to become a Class D Security Guard Officer. Includes a full, 40-hour course required by the State of Florida.

Business Plan Series - At the end of this five-week course, you will have created a business plan with all of the necessary components and your plan will be reviewed by a trained business counselor.

Early Childhood Certification - Get the skills you need to work in or own your own Day Care Center.

Small Business Resource Center - Through a partnership with Hillsborough County, the POINT offers introductory 7-week sessions on how to start a Business. Topics covered include concept feasibility, marketing, business plan, financing and licensing issues.
